Christmas Lights 2007 – 2

Filed under: Christmas Lights 2007 — tim @ 8:53 pm

There has been a lot of thinking going on about the configuration of this year’s Christmas lights display and how to integrate a story line. One thing lead to another and instead of adding three more 16 channel controllers, four have been ordered and should be here next week. The fourth controller will be to add some animation to the show to illustrate the story line in part. The grandkids have a song about a Christmas mouse that is cute. The trick will be to build the animation for that song, plus weave some type of story to connect the other songs. I’ve enlisted granddaughter Taylor to help with constructing a story. Should be interesting.

So along with adding a fourth controller, bringing the total channels to 80, that means another re-do of the songs already sequenced for 16 channels. Lucky other things came up so I didn’t get too far with sequencing the one song for 64 channels. And then I’ve rethought the placement of the controllers to save on the number and length of extension cords needed, which will affect the layout of the song sequencing. At some point I have to say enough is enough and go with it. Wife Mary believes that won’t happen until after we attend PLUS2007 in Gatlinburg in August, when she believes that I’ll hear about something else that we should try. But it sure is fun.

179 days until the lights go on
